Dragon Boat Festival Celebration
The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Fifth Month or the Tuen Ng Festival is observed annually to commemorate Qu Yuan, an ancient Chinese patriotic poet. When Qu Yuan drowned, it is said that the local people, who admired him, raced out in their boats to save him. This is said to have been the origin of dragon boat races.
To celebrate, the children at Islander enjoyed delightful experiences like wrapping glutinous rice dumplings and painting their own unique dragon boat made wth recycled materials. A wonderful way to immerse in and appreciate culture!
